synopsis:
The song was written to lyrics by Reuven Avinoam and became popular at the time.
The lyrics describe the Israeli pioneers as they dance at the end of their workday in the fields. The music is energetic and carrying and invites to join the dancing.

Lavry, who liked the theme of the song, used it in two of his compositions: The last movement, Hora, of Woodwind Quintet, Suite for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and Horn, and the last movement of the Concerto for Two Flutes, Cello and Piano, Op. 262.

(Transliteration from Hebrew)
Hach baregel mata, mala,

Et rosheinu bimchol on,
Et naimina venasmila

Ach ata netu ktefayim
Vetirka ragleinu shir.

Rav kocheinu! Shir niftsacha…
