Synopsis:
Marc Lavry’s Symphonic Poem Kineret is based on his song Kineret composed to the lyrics of Avigdor Hameiri in 1939.
Programmatic in nature, the music describes Lake Kineret (the Sea of Galilee), its landscape, and the fickle nature of it, changing from calm blue waters and ferocious stormy waves.

Kineret was first performed in Jerusalem in 1952.
